Battery Light

The battery warning light has come on in my 05 TDVS Disco. I put a volt meter on the battery with the car at rest and got a reading of 12.7V, with the engine running the measured output is 13.6V, so I am assuming that the car is charging as it should and is running fine. I did a hard reset to see if that would put out the light but it didn't and it is still there when the engine is running. The fusebox behind the glovebox has recently been replaced due to a parasitic drain issue. The battery warning light did not appear until a while after the fusebox was replaced so I can't think it is anything to do with that. Any suggestions as to what I need to check next?

13.6 isn't enough, needs to be over 14.4 volts with the engine running in a ideal world.
IID, webasto software and workshop facility's available.

Alternator about to die. When they go, they often short, smoke and wipe the battery out too.
Buy a new (not reconditioned) Denso unit (Denso is OEM for LR). can be bought for just under £200 and fitted as a DIY as long as you can get the viscous fan off. 3 Bolts, 1 nut and 1 connector. All reachable from above at the front.
There are tools for holding and unscrewing the fan (reverse thread) which are cheap and worth investing in a set or borrowing from another forum member (I'm in Cheshunt, Herts)

Search for YLE500400 DENSO for the alternator
