Hit in Waitrose car park - claim on insurance?
Was in Waitrose in chandlers Ford and heard "would the owner of discovery registration.... contact information desk"
It was mine
Found some woman hit the side of my car and left white residue and marked the paint a little
She has taken full responsibility and will contact her insurance tomorrow
I think most will come out with T-Cut but not the small Mark to the paint
Dilemma - do I let it go through insurance or see what it would cost to do private and get her to pay?
Car is Aintree Green so worried it's not just a touch up to get it sorted
Can the do theses sparkly greens by the patch or is it a whole door ?
Don't really want a claim ( even if not my fault) when I come to renew in JuneD4 HSE - Aintree Green

I wouldn't do any buffing out yourself. Take it to a body shop and see what they can/can't do.
Seems she is being good, so I would try and get it done externally of insurance as the starting point. Can always move to insurance if she isn't prepared to pay it.

Not sure she will gain much even if you find a cheaper alternative as once she has called her insurance it will be logged against her so a hike in renewal cost is likely.Series 1 V8

My Mrs did something similar and left a note. The guy took it to a body shop and we paid the bill. It wasn't cheap (2 month old M3, I could have killed her) but it saves insurances wranglings and price hikes. Try and be honest with her and not take the 'p', plenty of people would have just driven off.
You should be able to make a full claim on her insurance....
You can decide if you tell your insurer.....yo don't have to as she has admitted full liability.
The flour looks like the D4 version of Lugano...Lighter than the D3 original.....this is on the darker side so repairs readily...blends.
Choose your body shop wisely....they do vary - a lot.BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Unfortunately I had similar incident, chap apologised & said he would pay/ tell insurers until I had some quotations then it wasn't his fault etc. All I am saying is don't take it for granted she will continue to cooperate.

She has written on paper that it was her fault and she would go into A Plan tomorrow
I have a photo of this statement
There was also a witness - who reported it to the store manager
He took photos as well and was there when she admitted liability
Must say store manager at Waitrose was brilliant and even gave me s bottle of preseco to help ease the pain
I think I'll let it run for a day or two and see if they contact meD4 HSE - Aintree Green

In the meantime it will cost you nothing to get a quote from a local body shop. LR website has a searchable map of LR Approved body shops....

Believe it or not yes you will be regarded as likely to have another accident even though you didn't have one to start with .It's all about claims being logged
Been there with my lad
Involved in a hit and run whilst parked.driver fled then returned with his parents who claimed to be driving wtf
Not his fault but his went up untill we faught it

Probably not what you want to hear and of course just my personal opinion but better to notify your insurer of the incident for information only and claim direct against the other driver's insurer.
If she notifies her insurer your details will be in the system. You are supposed to advise your insurer of all incidents - fault or no fault - and they might check the system when you come to renew.
