Massive Oil Leak
Wonder if anyone can give me any pointers.
Noticed an oil patch on the drive yesterday.
Today removed the engine undertray and found quite a lot of engine oil on it.
Cleaned everything up but couldn't really see where it was coming from.
Topped up the oil and ran the engine, I have a steady stream of oil running onto the road (now into a tray).
On inspection seems to be coming from just behind the cross member where the front of the undertray bolts to right in the middle of the vehicle.
Wonder if anyone has any ideas where to start.
Fairly new to the Disco 3, but have had numerous earlier models and not afraid to get my hands dirty.
Not been under again as trying to find where to start first

Been under without starting the engine
Cant really see much only thing so far
to the rear and on the bottom of the crankshaft pullley seems to be a collar of some sort as if a pipe could be fastened to it cant see any pipe right enough
Given up for the night as darkness is falling
Had the oil filter casing off and it seems intact, no oil lying around there

Check the sump has not corroded especially around the oil temp sensor.

Update on this one
Decided it was too cold and really couldn't be bothered to lie out in the road trying to solve the mystery.
Recovered to a well known recommended garage in Paisley who although up to their eyes promised to look at it by today.
True to their word, contacted and seems the previous owner had the Oil pump, timing belts etc replaced some 5k miles ago had used aftermarket parts and the crankshaft seal had popped out. There was very little in the way of an interference fit.
Upshot being new Genuine oil pump, Crank seal and timing kit being fitted tomorrow and should have the motor back on Wednesday.

Good that it's fixed but must have cost a bit to do all that work?
