Well, the sticker looks older than 4 weeks doesn't it.
this should be easy to argue-given the sticker has the wrong part number for a new genuine part on it....
Rimmerbros show that part number as a reconditioned one from LR (LR008861) which has since been superseded http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID0073592005 Discovery 3 HSE

Cheers mate
I have recently emailed LR centre explaining they told me that I have had a genuine product fitted and recently was told it was actually a denso fitted which isn't the case and attached the pics and explained about the codes.
See what they reply with

A friend of a friend has apparently had the same issue with the same exchange alternator in the last few weeks. Personally I wouldn't want one from that batch at all, even if they find one that works.

Think they had a stripped bolt to contend with.

They swapped mine for another faulty one. I'm just getting a refund now.

Rang LR centre on my lunch break and got in touch with James the guy who emailed me back and go told he's gonna liaise with tim in the work shop and will ring me straight back.
He didn't ring back so think I need to attempt to gain the number for a manager instead of getting around

How did you go on with them? If it helps I've swapped mine for a Denso unit this morning and it's perfect. Looking at the two side by side, the LR exchange unit is NOT from Denso.

I'm going through the lets have a look stage with them so booked in week today
I did get them to admit that they've had a few faults after I mentioned the forum
But they know what the fault is. It's something to do with voltage or something??
Still adamant that they are brand new Land Rover alternators though as they bought 40+
From Land Rover
You took yours back for a refund?
