Battery light

Hi,

I have had a dead battery a few times, requiring a jump Start.

I have since installed a new battery and tested that when the engine is on there is 15.19 volts across the battery.

However, my wife has just phoned and told me the battery light is back on.

Where next to help resolve the issues?

Any help will be greatfully received.

Thats what I think but how can I be sure when there is 15.2 across the battery? Maybe it dies after a while?

Hallo simonwood,
here is the thread explaining how to change the alternator:

I did it myself and it needs a bit of knowledge and time... Whistle

Cheers, Gianni

I changed my alternator myself as well.

Not too bad a job, but make sure you buy a DENSO alternator and not some cheap 'alternative'.
If getting a garage to do the work either buy them a DENSO or make sure they get one.

Hi,

Just reserved a RTX on euro car parts, for £150, but have since reserved the DENSO unit

Why are they worth the extra £££ ?

cheers

RTX on ECP for me shows as £209.99.

Denso from Advanced factors is £211.00 with 5% off forum discount to deduct.
Or £245.94 with new belt and fan spanner and locking tool.
Thumbs Up

Worth checking that little fuse for the charging sense circuit before spending money - it does trigger the warning light.
