Please advise...
12v Socket has stopped working after fm ipod transmitter disintegrated in it. Cleared out all the pieces and transmitter now works but only in the cigerette socket. Checked the fuses and are fine.
Would appreciate any help.

My right hand socket stopped working about a month after i got it... Just using my phone charger. Have checked fuses & seem to be OK (& the other 12v socket works OK....)
Just been using the left hand socket until I either get more time to investigate, or I get the 15k service (am on 11k after 7 months)
Is there a seoerate fuse for the left & right hand sockets as I couldn't find it..... Bodsys Brake Bible

Looks like right and left-hand are on different fuses. Ciggy lighter is on fuse 55 (passenger compartment fuse box - 5th row, far right fuse) while the accessory socket is on fuse 34 (same fuse box, 3rd row, far right fuse)*.
Whether you have smokers pack or not, I suspect the wiring loom will be the same so the sockets will still be on separate fuses?
(*Page 253 - 255 in the 2006MY handbook.) I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

35, did you check the right fuse? There's a different fuse for each socket, so easy to check the wrong one. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Al, You're instructions were incorrect..... (for MY07 it was Page 254-256....... )
Thanks for that, Just a case of RTFM really.
Although having (finally) got the offending cigarette socket fuse out, (not too much skin lost.....) I tried to get the spare fuse.......
Who the designed access to the fuses SOOOO badly that you need to take the front dash off to get to the spares.....!
Must have been crazy to think I know, let's just put all those wires in the way & not give enough to move them......
So instead of persisting in removing my knuckle skin, I'm going to get soem spares to keep in the glove box.

and breathe.......
I did quote my source document quite clearly Mr B
Still, one step closer to having a functional socket I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

These Micro Fuses are a bit of a pain to find.... eventually found some in Halfords, but only in the Bling/Ear-splitting section......
