How to test for suspension that is not functioning properly
Hi all
my L3 is no longer comfortable the way it used to be previously
I have changed bushes, suspension pump but still I can't feel that comfortability especially when you are in rough roads
Am wondering could it be suspensions have worn out or they have lose their comfortability? Not sure how to test it
I have tried to pack it for 24 hrs while I set the car at high level with no signs of dropping on either side
Someone with idea on this?

Good morning, sorry if it seems a bit stupid but what mileage are you on ? Have you checked the tyres, pressures and depths ? I had awful rough feel on mine and it turned out to be one rear tyre was delaminating. Little bumps all over the tread. New set of boots, problem solved. Jarrod

You have changed the bushes! - did you lock them up at normal ride height, not with the arms hanging down at extended height? Did you fit genuine bushes? It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Not stupid question, but I have checked the tyres all of them are fine
Bushes am not sure if it was locked and genuity of the same as well I cannot confirm as it was done by technician
Possible the bush might not be genuine,
Not clear on fixing the height, what does that mean?
Thanks

Was a four wheel alignment carried out post bush replacement, if not and is way out the ride and handling suffer, have your shock absorbers given up the ghost at that mileage on the rough roads you seem to have this makes for a horribly uncontrolled floaty ride.

Four wheel alignment was not carried out post replacement of bushes
What is your suggestion here, do we need now to replace shock absorbers or we do alignment or we do both?
When changing any suspension component it seems to be best practice to jack the hub until the center of the hub nut is either 466mm front or 485mm rear from the under side of the wheel arch before tightening the bolts this sets the suspension up for normal height, i didnt do this when i replaced my suspension struts and the ride was very harsh this changed when i did the above and now the ride is lovely and smooth i would say that alignment will need doing after replacing the bushesRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

Sorry for late reply been busy, if a four wheel alignment wasn't done then that's almost certainly your problem start there, get it done if the facility's available to you.
