HELP WITH DIAGNOSIS?? Unusual Startup Signs. |
|
Hi guys,
Advice or insight would be much appreciated.
The issue Relates to my:
06' Disco 3
3lt Diesel Automatic
135km on clock
which Ive owned this for 11 months, and has been running great!
Im a LR newbie but may well be a lifer
I Just got a LandRover Service in December, and got a very positive, all clear.
However, the last 2 weeks Ive noticed odd stuff at startup.
-I turn the key to crank the engine
- The engine starts, however seems to require a lot more accelerator to get the engine to come to life
- It feels notably more sluggish than usual.
- Sometimes, there appears to be dark smoke coming from the exhaust.
- If you start driving whilst it is still sluggish, the power is notably lacking, for the first 30 seconds or so.
- Once you are 'on the road' the engine and power goes back to 100% like nothing was wrong. And drives perfectly.
- No warning lights appear whilst driving.
It has been colder here in Dublin but not majorly so (between 2 - 4 degrees).
I want to make sure there is nothing major happening.
I find it odd, so soon after a service.
Really appreciate any advice on what it could be and what to look for.
Andrew

Ok. Maybe not that bit. That could be a sign of failed glowplugs.
But they are a nightmare to change as they snap
