Leaking headlight washer jet

Hi guys.

Just spent the morning cleaning and hoovering the car and noticed a puddle under the nearside front.

Luckily the leak is only screenwash but it coming from the headlight washer jets.
Only on the nearside.

Typically it's Thursday and we're away for the weekend.

Would a new washer jet fix the problem, is this common.?

Many thanks

Tony

More than likely that the pump is allowing washer fluid to leak through, there is nothing else ( from memory when I retrofitted mine) except pipes to the nozzles.

Have you recently filled up the washer reservoir?

If your reservoir is full and the valve, and tpeice has failed/been replaced with wrong part the water will run out the washer jets on the bumper as they are lower than the water level. The t piece often gets broken by removing the bumper.

Andy.

My Jag had a one way value built into the T piece to stop it draining out.

It was a hella item also fitted to BMWs

I had a search on ebay a few days ago (as someone else had a problem) but couldn't find an example Crying or Very sad

Funny you should say that.. I topped the bottle up about 1/2 hour before I noticed it.

you say the T-piece may of failed, are these fitted with some kind of valve.?

Yes they are a oneway valve come T piece. It's in side the bumper under the passenger headlight area. When you take the bumper off, that is where you tend to separate the pipe system, often then braking it. People then just fit a t, but without the valve. I only know this as was warned when I was asking about removing my front bumper off winch install. It will only leak when the reservoir water is high, as it's only the filler neck that is above the jets, after that it's ok.

You can see the bottle in my photo, and how it is only the neck above jet height.
