Fit light bar in space below or above numberplate

Hello,
I want to fit a led light bar to my D4 and I am looking for good places to fit it. I know about the Prospeed roof mount which looks ok but I don´t want the increased wind noise. I have tried to find pictures or descriptions from someone who has fitted the light bar in the "slot" either above or below the number plate. I can´t seem to find anything. Surely someone must have tried it? Heat (covering part of the ventilation slot) can´t be a big problem as here in Sweden you need to fit a "winter grill" together with a piece of plastic that covers the bottom space under the number plate during winter to prevent getting ice in the turbo. It is said (from LR) that the plastic covering the lower slot can stay during the summer as well so a light bar shouldn´t be worse than that.

I have converted my high beams to 50 W HID so I need the light bar to get immediate light as the HID:s take some seconds to get to strength.

Any tips or pictures would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Peter

Found and bought a light bar today that seems to fit in the upper slot if I move the registration plate. Of course it is a slim version and I will not get huge amounts of light from it but I will give it a try. It is supposed to be rather good for its size, 120W and 10000 lumen. I will post some pictures if it will work out.

Ok, so I did a test fit of the light bar. This is the light bar that I am trying to fit http://www.scstyling.com/belysning/led-ram...120w-36288 It is a curved slim (42 mm high) light bar with CREE diods. Supposed to be 120 W and 10000 lumen.

First I needed to remove number plate and plate holder as they were in the way

The plate holder is held in the bottom by a plastic hook. The rest of the holder is screwed into the bumper.

I cut away the hook and put the holder back up-side-down which means it is fitted lower than before.

Light bar was a nice flush fit in the slot above the number plate and the number plate with holder is not in the way anymore.

I didn´t have time to plug it in but I think the fit couldn´t be much better. If you didn´t know the plate holder had been turned you could never tell.

Sorry for the poor pics. It was dark outside when doing this. I will get back with more Pictures when the light bar is connected.

Does that slot not help with inter cooler air flow and cooling. Think it has been said before and that it effects the engine performance

New picture in sunlight and clean car.

I have been driving around for some days now and so far no effect on performance. I assume it will show when summer comes if this is a problem.
