But as you mention - Skips.
I've just finished renovating my home and despite having my VW amarok and a couple of suitable trailers I gave up spending a day a week at the council tip (which is poorly laid out, mostly staffed by the braindead and wants everything sorting down to the last chemical element) and ordered a new skip every fortnight.
Paid in advance and the yard is only a mile away so they could collect/deliver at a moments notice.

That was my thinking James - got to be 'organised' to get skip in, fill and out where the 'van' gives flexibility for moving/collecting/dumping but at a cost. He's always 'popping in' builders merchant and DIY, etc.
Skip cost started him thinking of the van, you'd think you were buying the thing given the rates they charge on them.
Haven't a clue on tow-bar on the ST but can't imagine him doing that Can't even take trailers in council tips here without appointment and charge
However, given the house has now been plastered, literally, from top to bottom you can imagine he's over the hump of the worst of it.
