Both key fobs gone dead and D3 not starting

Please Help

Both key fobs for my D3 have just gone dead and will not open or lock the doors. The car was unlocked at the point of the fault so I can get in the car but when either car is in the ignition the only light on the dashboard is the airbag light, nothing else. Another turn of the key to start the car and nothing at all.

Appreciate any advise

Many thanks - Matt

Can do if you connect a charger to the battery and it lights up then thats your problem most likely if the doors been open for a while it does not go to sleep and kills the battery really quickly Thumbs Up

Had similar issue years ago, with a very flat battery in the car, down to 7.2 volts! Nothing would operate only very dim interior light.

Thanks for all the advise, we have tried to test with Jump leads but no sign of anything coming through. Should we see some sort of life with this method ? Don't really want to fork out on a new battery if it may be something else

Thanks again

It depends what the jump leads are attached to. Razz

But yes, if they are attached to the battery in a running vehicle, then there should be some life in your vehicle.

Thumbs Up

very strange if you've got jump leads connected and the support car engine running and you've got no sign of life in the dead car.perhaps check battery leads..in particular the earth

Use another/different set of jump leads to try agin if not maybe a main fuse near battery has blown but i dought it i think it will be an issue with jump leads can you connect and leave running for a little while and see what happens then Thumbs Up
