I used to work for an airline and on a UK / Miami route (i.e., almost all tourists), a 747-400 would be several tonnes heavier on average coming back to the UK. OK, some of that was down to souvenirs, etc., but I suspect an awful lot was newly laid-down blubber!

We are alike. Whilst the rest of my family love / loved the USA. Turned down my Green Card when I was young and offer of employment. (Unions and I had contacts!)

I enjoyed both of my trips to the US. The first to New England (a couple of weeks after 9/11 - that was a strange time to be travelling in the US. A truly scared people if ever there was one), the second to the west coast/Grand Canyon a few years ago. Found the people to be pleasant, the scenery amazing. A great place to sightsee around.
I'd like to go again and see some more of it.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Waverley Borough Council parking fees which are £0.90 per hour. Park in carpark, and go to pay at machine. RINGO does not work, as only 3G available so app won't load. So try to pay with card on the machine, but machine cannot connect to my bank, so payment declined. Go back to car, look though glove box etc. and managed to find a £1 coin. Back to machine and pay for 1 hours parking. No change given. Look at my ticket expecting the time to be adjusted for the 10p, but no. Entry time 11:55. Expires 12:55. So was robbed of 10p. This is a nice little earner if all that park in the large car park go through this.

I would be happy to lose the 10p if that’s all it cost!!!
We are £4.20 for a hour in the city centre of Aberdeen that’s if you can get through the LEZ and bus gates
No wonder the city centre is dying Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

EVRI…. Wtf?
Definitely need a group hug after trying to deal with this shower of merde…
Ordered some mats for daughter’s new XC60 ….Good price on EBay from a Volvo dealer… perfect transaction … free post even… however that’s where it ends ..two weeks later still not shown up.. chase the dealer who tells me Evri have had difficulties delivering… they can’t find my address... wtf.. live in a normal cul de sac…house number is clearly displayed on a plaque on the front of the house.. can see my house on Google Earth..
Chase the dealer who states they tried to deliver twice now…
Chased Evri, Full postal address, full postcode, wanted my email address and mobile number…even sent them my what three words to my front door.. now just battling the chat bots and call bots… still no joy!
Still waiting..would have been quicker for me to walk to the Volvo dealer and walk back…
Never ever use them! Shocking ….

Evri drivers are paid by the number of things they deliver, as counted on leaving the depot. Go figure.Rob Smith

Our usual Evri delivery driver Thomas is excellent.
He knocks on the door and waits.
If you don't answer he goes round the side of our house and puts the package behind the side gate.
If there is any chance at all of it getting wet, he wraps it in a bin liner. I've never heard of any other delivery driver doing that.
He appears to know us all by name, and if he's parked up having a break whilst we are out walking the dog he always waves and says hi.
We, like our neighbours have given him a reel or two of Bin liners in the past because we don't want him paying for them himself.
.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

LNER - Couldn’t get on yesterday due to a site malfunction. I get on today and the price of a ticket for Wednesday has risen by £22.
It’s for SWMBO, a shopping trip to Edinburgh. She likes to sit facing the direction of travel whilst munching on her free breakfast and coffee.
Then Junior is running low on his monthly contact lens, so I had to reorder. He’s got through two sets in a week!
I really don’t know why I put my bank card away. I might as well hang it up for all and sundry to use.

Mine is non existent…their contact system is also shocking.. go around and around the AI chat bots to return in exactly the same place.. no one calls back, or contacts you…
I can honestly say I will never use them to deliver anything I send! Don’t care if they are the cheapest.. compared to the DHL’s and even Parcelforce they are totally and utterly 0 star!

Add home insurance companies to today’s list.
Homeprotect we’re £400 last year, this years renewal is £1,500. Nothing has changed. A price comparison site check reveals other companies are £400 offering this year.
I did contact them for comment, but even they said there was nothing that would load the quote, but understood why I was disappointed, so I won’t be using them again.

I sometimes work for insurance companies. WFH is rampant and offices are near enough empty...... but its okay as costs are passed on.
Expect another rise in premiums once the Employer's NI increase kicks in.
