Interesting description of RN surface vessels in The Torygraph, basically hedgehogs. Can defend themselves but can do FA offensively against land targets. And the white elephant carriers Ming vases, too fragile to be put out in a conflict zone where they might do something. When they are not in pieces in Portsmouth coz they’ve broken down. Good job we’ve still got RAF Akrotiri.

And don’t get me started when fans of the Navy say all UK needs is the RN and an airline. And how’s that working out with both white elephants carriers sitting in Portsmouth? Whistle Whistle

Interesting article on why our new aircraft carriers are sitting in port.

At some point it will be a lot cheaper to send everything round The Cape. OK, it 7 days longer but hey ho, that going to be cheaper than the extra insurance.

Import duties.... Sad

Bought some goods from the USA:-

Goods = £146.05
USA UPS Shipping Costs = £38.05
UK Import Duties = £58.46
UK UPS Handling Fee = £12.90

So the import duties are around 40% Censored I get import duties are trying to protect local business, but when you cannot get these goods in the UK and charge you that amount, all this turns out to be is TAX Sad

Tax paid-for with the money left over after they taxed your earnings. If it comes from China they write "commercial sample" on it and you don't pay duty.

DEFRA

Due to the Censored that is our PM, even though one of my dogs isn't an XL Bully, I have had to register them both (one is a staff/ bullmastiff cross, the other is his niece whose father I believe was a Bully).
Paid my £92.40 per dog and got a certificate of exemption for both, even though no one at DEFRA has asked for photos or to take a look at them. The vets aren't able to help except for the neutering form and they won't even accept DNA testing to prove what they are. They are both listed as XL Bully on the certificate for their breed. Ridiculous and very frustrating. We are now tied by the cert requirements for the rest of their lives. Dangerous my Censored !

Companies that get talked into "modernising" name changes. How does it improve anything?

Are my cornflakes going to be any different now they're made by Kellanova rather than old-fashioned Kelloggs?

Speaking of delivery charges. I am paying £400 for a new Motorcycle to be delivered to me on 1st March and before someone says pick it up and drive back, the machine needs an interim service ( cost - £210) including oil change at 600 miles and the distance between the supplying dealership and me is 500 miles, then the nearest authorised dealership is 160 miles away from me unless I pick it up and book it in for the service the same day. I’d do it myself, but to preserve the 4 year warranty….. Rolling with laughter

The other thing is the yearly service costs thereafter. They must have got a hold of LR prices.

A yearly or 7,600 A service costs £313. The B service is £581. Shocked

And what is the chance of the owners being found?

The dog(s) arrive with bloodied fur, get washed down and kept quiet.

Virtually guaranteed, all you can hope is another member of the public saw the dogs and recognised them. Even then where's the proof?
A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

I'd bet it's not even accidental. I can easily see it being a deliberate act with money being exchanged, etc..
