D4 with RSE front headrest removal, how?
Bit of an oddball request but how do I take out the passanger side front headrest? Assuming I can. Tried the "normal" method but it just gets lifted up by about 1" then can't be moved any more. Any knowledge out there?
Reason is if I was using the car for campervanning the oztent would be pushing against the screen (it would be on top of the wolf boxes and engel) so likely to get damaged. I thought it would be easier to just take it off and leave it at home. No-one is going to sit in the passanger seat so it's not needed.

I would presume the cable is preventing it from moving up any further.
Can you not release the cable under the seat and give it enough rope to pull away?
To release it completely you'll need to unplug the cable ( on the D3 it's inside the centre console ) and pass it thru the seat. Not ideal. Mods:

I'll have a look at the wiring underneath but not sure I'm going to be able to remove it. I might have to sort out some way to protect it when the the oztent is pushed to the side so it doesn't get damaged.

No, I never got any further. I concluded easiest way to protect the screen from the oztent was a neatly fitting plastic box. I only really need it when the car is in camper config and the oztent goes on top of the Engel and wolf boxes.

Unless someone knows a better way.

OK minor thread resurrection.
Can just the screen be taken out of the headrest rather than the headrest off the seat back? I don’t mind leaving a gaping hole for a few weeks when I’m away, would just take the screen out, disconnect it at the screen end and make sure I could get the disconnected cables secured so could get to them easily when putting the screen back.
Thoughts oh wise ones?

Would not have thought that would be simple, would suggest a box over the screen or pit of wood covering it with velcro straps around headrestMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I’ve got something in mind for that, just has a eureka moment re just removing the screens. It’s just for when the weather is really bad/I’m feeling lazy and I use that car as a camper.
Not saying that I’m going to use hotels more on the next road trip but I have something booked for every night. Allegedly.
