FBH loss of communication
I have suspected that my FBH have had some starting issues this fall/winter. Just installed timed climate with remote control (thanks Bodsy). After installing I had several test runs with a lot of smoke but run time got longer and longer at each try and finally had it running two full runs of 30 minutes with no smoke. Though it had burned it self clean during this process. Had the car connected to a charger at all times to save the battery, at least ¾ full diesel tank, and with at last one hour between each of the long runs.
Now the only reaction I have when trying the remote or timed climate is 5-6 sec of cabin fan run. The FBH does not try to start, no fan, no fuel pump no nothing. Have had it connected to the IIDTool but got nothing sensible out of it. The external temperature is however reported to be 215C which don't seems to be right when snowing outside . But had the same temperature reading when it did run.
Have tried removing and reinserting the fuses, no change.
Have disconnected the battery and had it disconnected for two days, no change.
Have tried searching but didn't find anything relevant.
Any thoughts what to try next?

I do also get the loss of communication in the fault codes, before and during the time it worked. Now nothing works.

You may need to clear a LOCKOUT fault.....

Is the lockout possible to reset with the IIDTool or is a trip to a local shop?

Clear the faults with the IId tool and then remove fuse 28 for a minute. That's what my research turned up this afternoon. Fuse 28 is in the fuse box alongside the battery. I did it with keys out of the ignition.

Did that earlier with no change. Left the battery disconnected for two days with no change.
But hey .. to day it fired up as it should on engine start, tried it whith the remote later and it works
Think that I should not touch it now as it seems ok after all.
Have however ordered an diagnostic interface of fleabay and will try the webasto software to do a proper diagnostic of the unit.

That's good news. We only run Mac's so don't have a PC laptop or I would have invested in the interface. I think mine needs to come out and go through Robbie's service/clean routine.
