How accurate is the iid voltage?

Fitted a new ea1000 battery yesterday, hoping to fix my special programs off and no fbh in the mornings.
Well it solved one but not the other, fbh is still temperamental, but it might be a different issue.

Anyhow, I was checking stuff with the iid and left it connected on the drive home. The whole way it was reading 15-15.1v

My limited knowledge suggests this was compensating for the battery not being charged, which seems odd on a new battery. I thought it should be more like 14v with the engine running under load.

I've had it connected to the ctek since lunchtime and the battery now reads 12.6v with the engine off via a meter. Although it wasn't showing as fully charged on the ctek, and as soon as I disconnected it from the quick connector, the traffic light thing was still flashing orange.
I shall plug the iid back in tomorrow to see what it reports and get the meter on it whilst running, but just wondered how reliable that 15v indication from the iid actually was.

Mine pretty much runs 15.1V the entire time, only after a trip up to Norfolk 125 miles does it drop to low 14 volts ish.

These are very handy to have plugged in all the time so all you need is a quick glance every now and then.

There is no voltmeter in the IID; everything displayed is from a vehicle ECU.

So if the reading that is displayed on the iid is from an ECU and you have one of those voltmeters plugged in displaying a different reading, which one would you think is more accurate?
