2.7 or 3.0??

2.7 or 3.0??

Hi all, we have just purchased two discovery 4's. Both with knackered engines, both done in excess of 350k We have had new engines fitted, however one of the invoices says 2.7 and the other 3.0.

Is there a way to confirm if its a 2.7 or 3.0 tdv6?

There both commercials discovery 4's both say 3.0 on the logbooks both built in 2011.

Thanks sorry I meant to say if the garage has fitted a 2.7 instead of a 3.0?

Is there a easy visual identification under the bonnet between the two engines.

We are having problems with the garage thats all.

Ours both have the 6 speed box without rotary gear knob. So believe they are single turbo 3.0.

the 3.0 is a twin turbo. the 2.7 was single turbo in the D3 application. Some D4's had 2.7's but not sure if these remained as single turbo or went twin turbo as they were when fitted to Jags.

Dipstick could be the giveaway, 2.7 had one, don't think the 3.0 did Question

Thanks for the replies, they haven't got dipsticks and both have two air flow meters so I reckon they are 3.0's.
