Nudge bar - top grille mount won't screw into grill |
|
Morning all
I took my a/nudge bar off the G4 at the weekend in order to access my grill and headlights. It's got a metal bracket connecting the top of the nudge bar to the top flat surface of my grill (two bolts on each side).
When I came to refit the nudge bar, the bolts wouldn't 'bite' into the plastic at all. I've had to leave it unconnected at the top (doesn't seem to do much other than a bit of vibration stability). Not sure what went wrong, the screws have maybe sheared the plastic holes and now they can't get any purchase?
Has anyone had this problem please and can you recommend a solution? I can't really add a nut to the end of the bolt because I can't get under the grill once it's secured in place... I thought maybe a U-shaped nut clip slipped on to the top of the grill but think it would have to be huge?
Thank you

I'm not familiar with the mounting but can you use a rivet nut? There's the rubber-type ones that might be more suited to this application?
