I made one out of an old screwdriver which had been ruined. I heated the end and bent it over to a right angle. Works very well. If you get up my way I'll show you how to do it too. Once off the airbag just pushes back on without the need for the tool again.
If you do a search, Martin had put up the dimensions of the tool to enable you to make one of your own if you'd prefer. I think the depth of the hook part was 5mm from memory.
