Key Fob Heating
l picked up a used LR4 HSE Jan 14 model yesterday. I did enquire about remotely heating car on a fob. I was quoted £ 750 for receiver, fob and fitting. Is this about right or is there a cheaper way ?

Much cheaper ways.
Either a fob, or get the Altox unit which you can use with your smart phone.

If it's not hot timed climate on the nav screen you will need that activating to use any remote system.

Then select your option, as said I can supply you an Altox unit to control it by call, text or app and it'll track your cars location too Altox GSM FBH controller thread

The nav screen has options like navigation, audio, aux etc, you may find one called timed climate , if you do, then the car is activated, you just need a controller Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Beanie - Just had a butchers and yes in the menu there is timed climate with either a 7 day or single day event. What I am looking for is to be indoors and operate the fob to warm the car up and de-ice while I eat me shreddies !!! The dealer said I needed a separate fob and a receiver fitted to the car + comp update ????
Great, so all you need is a way to activate it remotely, there is a kit from LR, but that means having a second fob on your key, same size as the key pretty much, or such as the Altox, that is phone or App controlled

I remember the dealer saying they had to run some software on the car to enable the fob to talk to the receiver !!!
No cheap eBay fobs anymore , but I can send you a LR kit if all you want is remote start, but a few more £s gets you the benefits of the app and trackingAltox GSM FBH controller thread

Almost all cars with timed climate factory enabled will need a CCf change.
