What differences between model years please? (2011 - 2012) |
|
Hi
My budget means I’m buying around 2011/2012 model years. There must have been an update around then the most obvious thing is a change of gear lever. Is is worth stretching for the later gearbox?
Are there any other changes?
cheers Kev

The main change with 2012 model year was the new 8sp box and an extra 10 bhp. Think first cars with this would have been around Sept 2011. It was something i held out for when buying mine and while ive never driven a 6sp, the 8sp is lovely and smooth also i think it was around this time that an improved air compressor was fitted (AMK). Maybe also flappy paddles - not sure, mine has them. D4 GS 12MY

As above, but over and above the Gearbox and small hike in power output, there was a revision to the steering rack....
Mike Cross,Jaguars chassis guru had some input into improved handling between the 2 model years also, although I'm sure us driving mortals would probably be hard-pressed to detect it.... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

If you can afford it I would go for the 8 speed, the new gearbox just seemed to make a great car even better Cheers Ian
