The key was for my D3. The advert say D4 but the key reference is the same and the seller confirmed that it would work. (It did )
Open your original LR key and there is a code where the key is stored. (Mine is an YWX000061)
It seems now that he is down to one the price has risen to £45.

thanks pjm-84
no more keys available but I have one
will post some pics later from the various keys I tried. may be there is someone out there who could identify any of the pcb I got. None so I got to work.
And I am pretty sure it is not due to the IID tool that I could not programm them.Achim

Due to technical requests received this week, I revisited the key programming function and it worked correctly on our D3. Apparently, some supplier which provided good keys in the past are having issues.

Difficult to say which one is more genuine than the genuine LR.
Let's see how the next key from fleabay will perform Achim

I'm am pretty certain your Chinese key will not work. There is no inductor antenna near the top like the German one has.
The Youtube video is mine.
I strongly recommend you get the key in the youtube link from China as it is an exact one-2-one copy of the original. Even the battery is a Pansonic. Mine is over a year old now and faultless.
The other cheaper key from ebay worked for a couple of months, then packed up. I cant figure out the fault as the battery is good and my radio scope confirms its transmitting something.

I have the same key as Pete K, i.e the bottom one. Didn't work for me when trying to program it with the IDD device.

That was my thought too. No black thing on the end. (could be on the other side though?)
So the unlock/lock buttons may work, but it won't start the car.
I seam to remember someone reporting exactly this.

It's showing one side of one and the other side of the other. So you need to see both sides of both to accurately compare.
The eBay keys can sometimes take a bit of programming to get them to work. One I had to do 4 times before it would finally work. You need to get the key in the right position to code it it seems.
Once coded, works fine.
One I did yesterday took two goes to code. Bodsys Brake Bible

The length of my "keys in the post" was too long to fit my Chinese key,
so maybe best to get the chineese blank cut
