Front suspension lower arm bolts
Hi, hope someone can steer me in the right direction.
I'm in the process of fitting new bushes to my D3's front suspension and am just about to put it all back together again. However, whilst looking at the above diagram I have noted that the bolts for the lower arm are shown as inserted from the centre, where as on my car they have been fitted from the outside (on both sides of the car) with the bolts in the centre.
Is there a right or wrong way to fit them? I don't know if the front of mine has ever been worked on and someone has fitted them incorrectly, but it would seem make more sense to fit them as per the diagram and the nuts are easier to get at and torque up.

The diagram is correct, someone must have worked on yours and fitted them incorrectly. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Thanks for the quick reply DN.
I wonder it maybe the raised tags in the chassis misguided them and they thought the bolt heads should slot between them.
Anyway I'll be fitting them correctly now. Thanks again.

As long as the raised areas that the cam washer (HW1) edge can contact (for setting alignment/ camber etc), are not worn away or damaged, you should be ok fitting as per the diagram. There are no problems there, they're in good order and I'm using new bolts and washers that have crisp sharp edges to give positive location and adjustment.
