Bluetooth Phone Integration Problem |
|
Hi,
The phone integration might be playing up in my car, not really sure yet. It always worked perfectly, much to my surprise, but more lately it's take a little while to pair, and the since the other day it's stopped pairing all together. I'm fairly sure it's not my phone as that works with everything else, and wondered if anyone had any ideas? My phone simply doesn't see anything anymore for me to connect to. Can you turn off the phone integration for example to reset it? I'm guessing it's a absolute if it's failed...

What phone ?
And have you updated the software on the phone recently ?
You try a hard reset on the car first .. instructions in the Wiki section G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I've not updated the phone at all, and the phone still works with other devices. The car simply doesn't appear in the discovered list anymore...
I'll have a look at the reset in the the Wiki area - not been in there before....

Hi Guys,
Thanks but as I say, I'm pretty sure it's not the phone. I also just tried gf's phone that used to pair with the car, and that doesn't see anything either - it's really like there's no car bluetooth anymore
What are the implications of this hard reset?
I'm not in a hurry so I'm not going to do anything rash...
Just bloody annoying is all...

Just thought I'd offer an update. I think the bluetooth in the car must be quite sensitive. I've found that with the phone in my coat pocket, in front of my wallet, the phone doesn't always connect. However, if I take my phone out and put it on the cubby lid for example, then it always seems to work. I think I've also figured out that it only trolls for a synced device when you start the engine, i.e if it doesn't find the phone at that point, then it won't look again, and seems to turn off. I think it was the latter that was foxing me more than anything. That said, I could have had a fault, but it does seem to be working now far more often than not. However although I now test it most of the time, I rarely use my phone in the car, and it seems to be the only time I actually want to use it, well, that's when it hasn't synced... figures....
