Caravan advise

Hi all last year I got my first caravan a twin axle sterling wayfarer. Now I have been looking at caravan and different setups inside. Now I have seen a hobby 720 twin axle fixed bed, fix bunk, dinner and huge sitting area. It's 24000 new. Now my question is why so cheap because looking at swift same size are like 30000.
Is the build not as good or is it just the name hobby as gypsy have them. My thinking behind them having one is they would be great as they live in them all year round

Check the dimensions as most of the twin axles cannot be towed legally on UK roads by a D3/4. Hobby will tell you they can but if you check i believe that model is actually to long from memory.
You can by all means take a chance and many do but you could come unstuck especially if involved in an accident.

Lovely vans but not allowed on most sites because of being the traveler type of van and usually the doors on the wrong side or it used to be Thumbs Up

I had a 650 prestige, brilliant van... it had the comfiest bed I have ever slept in and the build quality was really good...

I had it in Abersoch for 3 years so didn't need to tow it much... it was wide but very easy tow when I did
If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Think I need look in to it a bit and get the size of the van as they do look long max lenth is 7m. I like the door on the right side would be great for storing on my drive and loading from the house. Just can't find anything else at the min that ticks all the boxes. Fix bed, fixed bunk twin axle and large fridge. If anyone has any ideas on this please point me in the right direction. I realy like this tip of holiday now already booked 8 weeks away this year and a few weekend

Overall length is 9.028 body length is 7.854 so that looks to be illegal to tow in this country

As others have said, the association with gypos does Hobby no favours.

My advice: stick with what you have for another year. Go to one of the big caravan shows (There's one in Manchester next month and another at the NEC next November) and spend the day looking at what's on offer.

A lot depends on how long you stay on each site. If you move on regularly, the Hobby and other wide 'vans will be a hassle. If you're only in a couple of places all year, they're worth it.

You need a commercial vehicle over 3.5t to tow.
