I wonder if I can pick the collective brain with another EPB problem. Mine has made a dreadful 'ratcheting' noise intermittently over the last couple of weeks. I've handed it over to a trusted specialist for investigation, and he tells me that the only obvious fault they found with the rear brakes was a sticking offside calliper.
I understand that it's the shoes that are operated by the EPB module, but would one calliper holding on longer than the other make it try to adjust 'oddly' and cause the problem?
The discs and shoes were replaced by a set from AF about a year ago and appear to be in good condition.

We'll it's back with a new calliper and a cleaned and adjusted EPB. No problems so far (touch wood), and the garage were unable to recreate the noise either.
