IIDTool BT failed - But Only Temporary - Thanks to GAP
Thought I would update my IIDtool to latest Beta level, the IIDTool updater appeared to do the Job fine, (Windows 10Pro X64) however it came up with a message at the end of the flashing/update BT unit failed. I then downgraded the firmware to the latest release, only to get the same message, BT Failed. I then tried the Tool on the car as I have restricted performance warning, and the tool talked to my mobile perfectly and cleared the fault
I thought I would ask on here first prior to sending an email of to Patrick at GAP in case anyone else has had a similar problem and there is a simple fix.In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

It is very USB cable/port sensitive. Try a different cable and see how you get on.

Yea, already changed the cable, and swopped to another USB port, might dig an old laptop out, and give that a try.In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

Patrick sent me a video identifying the issue also the fix, the problem with my IIDTool was a very simple one, easily fixed.
Anyone thinking about some diagnostic Kit should definitely look at GAP, my tool is well outside its warranty ,yet GAP were still more than willing to offer help and support --- before I had even asked for it.

My iid bluetooth only works if i pull it forward slightly. I thought the pins in my OBD port was wearing out so i leave an extension cable permanently plugged in, then plug the iid into the extension lead which works fine.
Then the other day another member popped over with his much newer RRS and my iid has the same problem in his OBD port!
My Nanocom works fine in my OBD port without using the extension lead.
Sorry for the late response
I've sent you a pm

I have a similar problem - my BT iiD either sticks saying 'locating VIN' or I get a 'cannot connect to HS-CAN bus' message
I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting to the OBD port and Ive checked all the connectors in the OBD port - they seem fine. My iCarsoft 930 connects fineMY2010 D4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornaway grey
