Rear brake disc removal?

I tried yesterday to remove my rear brake discs, I done the rob release procedure etc yet the only thing I got stumped on was the turning of the disc to find the brake pad release clicker.
Do i need to have both rear wheels off the ground?
Or does the car need to be in neutral?
I'm a bit stumped as when I tried to move the disc it turned a bit but seemed to stop as the drive shafts were stopping it.
Be gentle if I'm being thick!!
Ta Sam.

The drive train will stop a single wheel tuning, support the rear end on axle stands if you want to rotate a wheel, if you put it in neutral and have released to EPD nothing is holding the car, so beat practice is to chock the front wheels Thumbs Up

Thanks beanie, that's what I hoped but thought I'd better check with more knowledgeable people first, I don't want to brake anything! Thumbs Up
