Fog lamp niggle fixed
One of the very few things that has always niggled me about the D3 is the fog lamp set up.
For me, front fog lamps do pretty much naff all other than dazzle oncoming traffic. The rear ones, however are actually important.
So it is annoying that the rear fog lamps cannot be switched on on their own when you have front fogs fitted, you have to double-pull to get rear fogs but only with the fronts as well.
No longer
I have simply swapped the front and rear fog output wires on the lighting switch connector - pins 2 and 3, coloured Red with Orange [RO] and Blue with Red [UR].
I had to lever out the white terminal lock from the face of the connector, and tweak out the two terminal latches to get the pins to remove (I can photo/document this if of interest).
Now the rear fog lamps come on on the first pull, with the fronts added at the second pull (never going to happen)

That is a very good tweek if as you say you never use the fronts.
A small bug bear of mine is when people leave their rear fog lights on when there is a car( or in my case discovery) behind them. When a car comes up behind you and obviously knows you are there people should turn off the rear fog lights.
Rant over.
On our FL2 front and rear fog lights are on different switches

Well that has to be functionality that one person in the world needs
Thankfully I don't live near you, so when your strugging to see where you are going in real fog (and find HIDs a total pain in fog) I won't have to put up with your rear fogs being on!

I'm so glad I won't be a pain to you, even if you have jumped to the conclusion that I leave the rear lights on all the time.
Hope you switch off your fronts when they are not totally necessary and when approaching other traffic. No-one else bothers.
In my opinion the front fogs on a D3 are too high and usually too cloudy to do much. In common with most front fogs they are a styling feature.

Martin, might do your little changeroo.
Not sure how effective my front fogs are. In addition to the misting up and gravel/sand the rear reflectors are rusted like a rusty thing. Too much off-roading in my misspent youff, D3 wise.

Oh I agree it makes no sense to have to put on the front fog lights so that you can turn on the rear fog lights
I'm with Martin in that one pull also puts my rear fog lights on as I have no front fog lights.
It is a better system in the Freelander having two separate switches and the front fog lights are also lower on the Freelander.
