What Glow Plug Brand ?
I want to change all 6 Glog Plugs, My car seems to start ok, but if the truth be told, I've not changed them since I've owned the car, So for my own piece of mind and service history I've decided to get them changed,
Now I know Bosch make them, but so does Lucas, NGK, IST and a few others,
Which ones have you used or advise ?

Tended to use NGK in the past and had no problems with them and lasted as well.
I think the LR standard ones are Beru and I installed these in my D3 a few months ago.

If they are working OK why change them? I've had my old bus is 12 years and over 200k miles and never thought to change them. It starts no problems whatever the temp. If you do change them, be aware that it often goes badly necessitating the removal of the heads.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

If they're fine the last thing to do would to be touching them. You could cause yourself a major headache and a bill to match.

If you want to change working glow plugs because they are 12 years old and still working why not go the whole hog and change the car?- after all that is also 12 years old It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

At what point did the OP say they are working fine?
Said the car starts OK, but that doesn't mean all 6 plugs are fine...
If they come out fine because they are working, then I'm all for replacing them early My D3 Build Thread

It has to be about weighing things up and given advice. The forum a packed full of horror stories about snapped glow plugs.
It would be fair to say more have been trouble removing them with them snapping than them just simply coming out no problem. Then the result the car off the road longer and increased bills due to labour.
Did someone not do a snapped glow plug poll to show the problems they can be?

you should test them.
If you have 4 or more working leave them alone!
Otherwise leave it until you have £2K spare to spend, don't need the car, or warm weather if you are going to DIY.
They aren't the sort of item to change, just for fun or service history

If we all changed them every few years I suspect we would have never heard of a snapped plug. Getting working ones out is relatively easy.
In truth you get similar issues with very long-life spark plugs. By the time they are due for removal they are bonded with the head. Never used to happen when sparkplug changes were routine.
I'm minded to change my D4 glowplugs this summer. Hopefully 45k and 4 years installed will make it a painless task.
