Jaime, good you had it solved.
I have had this happen to both of our D3's, but from getting wet. Check for the cowl being warped above the pollen filter duct. Water gets in through a warped cowl and into the wires behind the battery or the wires under the pollen filter inside the cabin. Also If the battery drain is also draining onto the wires behind the battery under the cowl when water hits there it creates issues for the audio of the radio. Replace the cowl, or tape for now the warped cowl part against the windshield. I used black electrical tape as a temporary fix.
