so the newly aquired money pit has started to make a groaning /screeching noise when it is applied and released. what is to be done knowledgable people?

Happened to me this summer. Needs a good clean, the sooner the better. Try not to use it until you get it fixed; use P on autobox instead.

Just had mine done at the indy , was getting embarrassing on car parks , £80 for a clean and adjust , as i didn't have the time as it was poss something i might of attempted , , been ok so far

Likewise I paid while on hols. Check out Bodsy's brake bible for the DIY. If you leave it, it can jam and.or go past repair.

Mine was making this noise, before you knew it mine went totally and I had to get the handbrake cable cut as my manual release was also broke.

Need to stop using it straight away. I found it difficult as it was second nature to flick the switch so I gaffer taped a temp cover over the top!
