right, all of plugs are out and they managed to get 3 out and snapped 3. the drilling out went without any problems and the new ones are now in situ. hopefully i should get her back in the next couple of days.
if you do replace the glowplugs, because of the work involved, get them to replace the cambelt and watch out for the fuel pump as these tend to fail, and if it hasn't been replaced it may be a good thing to do it at the same time.
let's see whas damage is !!!!

Hi MSetubal
At least 3 came out without any issues...... that's half way there.......
It would be interesting if the plugs are all in one head (side of the "vee") or just dotted through the engine.
For future readers of this post I think its the oil pump you should be replacing not the "fuel pump" as quoted below:-

Hi Mallo,
thank you for the reply, yes you are correct, it is the oil pump, my bad
The plugs are on the outer side of either of the V blocks.

Mario

Update on the trip.
Just returned from our trip to Austria. Disco behaved beautifully, no problems at all - Thank you to All Wheel Drive in Jersey for the excellent work.
The temperature out there didn't drop below 0C but it started quick and first time at 0C (on the dash), no issues whatsoever, just need a batch of cold weather to really test it.
I probably have to wait until next winter to really test it.
