No start - only click. After Engine ECU Flash |
|
Hi folks,
my first post with a serious problem.
Today i did a engine ecu flash with my nanocom evolution. Everything worked ok - nanocom finished the ecu flash complete with no errors.
I should recycle the ignition two times. Did this. At this point all vehicle system seem to work ok.
But: when i try to start the engine, i only hear a click under the dash. No crank of the starter. only this little click. At the same time, the hevac goes down - comes back again when i end my starting attempt.
After searching this lovely forum, i did found a thread which tells, after a engine ecu flash the fuel pump has to be calibrated (fuel pump procedure).
So i try to find this procedure on my nanocom. But theres nothing for my CAN Bus Vehicle. No point for Fuel Lift Pump.
Please give me some hints!
Some things i do think over:
1.) Could it be that some fuses for the engine starting system are blown thru the flash procedure?
2.) Immobilizercode? Sync between Engine und Body lost. Key is working fine - opening, closing, no message in the dash.
3.) Should i do a Hard Reset?
Tomorrow morning i will at first disconnect the battery an check the fuses.
Please please give me some hints. I need the car back on the road...
Kind regards
Jo from Germany

Is your battery fully charged? De-Tango
V8 Brakes
EGRs blanked
Running boards
3 flash indicators and clock on dash
Blingy grille...

Battery sounds low. Grab another vehicle and jump leads and give it some extra power.

Thanks for your fast replies.
1. At the first flashing, i did the procedure without an external power supply. After the non starting of the car, i did read that the flash procedure should be done with external powersupply.
Connected my CTEK 25000 to the battery - did a second flash with previous software. No effect.
Battery is 100 Amps, 2 weeks old. CTEK is connected at my starting attempts.
2.) In my Nanocom i do not find the menupoint for the fuelpump! Perhaps it´s not implemented for the disco 3?

The fuel pump lift is available for the d3 .. iv used it many times ( you have to reset after a ECU flash )
Check you have the lastest software on the nanocom .. or contact Blackbox to find out were it is
Unfortunately I don't use the nanocom , so can't help you locate it G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

nope - didn´t find it!
I ve posted in the bbs forum. Perhaps a bug or failure in the software.
Is there a possibility for a downgrade to v1.27?

It´s not a battery problem. Yesterday checked. Fully loaded - CTEK showed the green light.
Attempt to start failed again.
The red immobilizer led extinguishes when i insert the key - so i dont think the problem is on the anti theft system.
I have to try the fuel pump lift - have to wait for the answer of BlackboxSolution, cause in v1.32 of the software i´ve no Utility for Fuelliftpump.

Hi folks,
things cleared. Engine running again and back on the road.
BBS helped me with it´s forum an PM to Adrian.
Had to update my Nanocom Evolution with the same actual Softwareupdate two times. Erase an formatting the sd card and installing the sd card files again.
This brought up the missing items.
Happyly and thanks for your posts.
Now i´ve time to rule the EngineSystemFailure Message that comes on sometimes. Code points to temperature sensor failure post cat. Will change this soon.
