Buying a D4 privately ?
What's the situation re comeback when buying a D4 privately?
You ask the questions, you get the assurances, everything looks drives ok then a few days later it's either 'limp mode' or all the 'lights & bongs' come on...... and it's potentially big £££££££££'s from there on in?
So what protection does a private buyer have?I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Unless they lied about something, you can prove it, you are prepared to sue them and there are assets to sue against.

Looking at offering mine for sale privately and have been thinking the same but from the sellers perspective. I don't want someone knocking on my door 4 months later with issues! My car will still be under warranty but either way i will be encouraging people to look over it with a fine toothcomb, its in fine fettle but at the end of the day its used and a lot of money will be involved.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Dealer records maybe - but that's about it I expect
FSR and dealer invoices as a minimum - also little things like tyres all the same type and a decent make mean the car has been looked after - but its a leap into the unknown, its just what you can do to mitigate the risk
Or buy one of here when one comes up from a 'known' member vs. one that's been on for a few weeks?
