Fitting LR Towbar Electrics to D3

I'm sure that I had come across an old thread previously, but cannot seem to find anything now - having just aquired a set of LR twin towing electrics, can anyone point me in the direction of a fitting guide?

I know that they are just plug and play, but where would each socket plug in, where do the earths bolt down to, where do the cables pass through the body work, and silliest question of the lot (as if it would matter!) which socket bolts on left and right!

I was also wondering if I need spacer rings between the sockets and the chassis (none in the kit)?
