I wanted to know which my car has? Xenon or halogen? I have a Disco 3 2007 (56 plate) HSE. How would I know which my car has?
Which ones are better/brighter? The Xenon or halogen and why?
Lastly I want to upgrade all my light bulbs/led's to the most powerful/brightest they can handle including the light that comes on when I indicate/turn left or right.
Thanks in advance.

You'll have xenons as standard. Only reason not to is someone's sold them on & fitted halogens. Xenons are better, but the bulbs fade with use and you may need new ones.

Just connected my new Philips full beam H7 bulbs DSL advised me to get. I want to fit a pair of these H8 on the sides for when I indicate. Are these advisable? If not what is the best/give a good amount of white lift I can get?
I also want to get some decent white headlights (xenon on my model if I'm right). Any advise which ones?
Thanks.Discovery 3 HSE 2007

You could fit H9 bulbs in the cornering lights. I bit of a mod needed to get them to fit, but not much and I think it makes a big difference.
Take a look here.
What would be the best xenon headlight (d3s I think) bulbs to get? Something that would give me a brighter white light with a longer beam and still be safe for incoming traffic?Discovery 3 HSE 2007

Mine are still going strong with no sign of any issues.
As for the xenon bulbs (D2S, BTW), just don't bother with any upgrades. They are all legally limited to 3200lm and the standard bulbs meet that. What you get with "upgrade" bulbs is a higher colour temperature which fools you into thinking it's brighter (in reality, it causes more glare and fatigue due to the way your eyes behave - warmer colours are much better), poorer colour rendering and a shorter bulb life. Coupled with a higher price tag it's not a very attractive package, but many are taken in by the misleading claims because our eyes simply cannot judge light intensity well at all (because they are are designed to adapt and not for consistent measurements). Decent 4300K bulbs are best for both vision and value, such as Osram Original Line.
In the end, what really gives longer vision is shifting the balance of light further away (after a point, more light just closes up your pupils, which can give better focus, but doesn't make the road further ahead any better illuminated to the eye), which is something that only auxilliary lamps can do to any significant extent.
