EGR P0489
Just got limpmode when starting and code P0489.
Understand that it is EGR trouble.
Can erase code with IID and get going. Anyway no limpmode but not a sprinter.
IID live values when going is EGR 0 86%, EGR 1 5%.
Which is left and right?
Would it be EGR mechanical fault or could it be electrical?

Likely to be egr stuck open. As you have an IID tool, you can get the blank software update from BAS and then physically blank them and apply the patch.
Only if you don't have DPF though, so check that first. Bodsys Brake Bible

unfortunately I have DPF.
But I have seen something about an australian emulator. Mayb it works with DPF.
Anyway. My car has done 220000kms. Already I have had 2 new EGRs on each side. Very expensive "consumption" part.

If you blank the egrs or remove with emulator it means the regen process won't work properly as it uses the egr to manage the temperature to get it hot enough to burn off the rubbish in the DPF.Bodsys Brake Bible
