v8 screen message
Hi all, had a screen message appear today as I was out in the ol' v8, reduced engine performance, I've had a look in the handbook and it is listed but no advice on what to do, anyone know?

Never had it on mine think you might need to see what if any fault codes have set.==================================

Possible throttle body gunked up and needing cleaning I have read. My lady's D3 in California has gotten this code twice under the same circumstances. Only while going down hill on cool night after driving it on a very hot day and parking it for a few hrs then driving down a long steep hill on a cool night.
Let me know what you find out.

you need to read the fault codes.
Any number of sensors etc could cause this message

took it to a guy I use for some disco stuff to see which codes showed up but nothing and it hasn't appeared again at the moment so it's going in for a service soon, i'll get them to check the throttle body, thanks for asking. 54 disco 3 4.4 v8 now gone

I had it happen 3 or 4 times in my LR3 - each time when very cold, south of -15/-20c. Each time stopped and got to somewhere safe, restarted and the message cleared.
I had reduced performance myself in those temperatures '80 109 Stage 1 V8 - still going strong!

Let me know if it comes back after the throttle body cleaning or if you find something else.

Also happened to me the other morning. Two very short trips the previous night, started first turn of the key but when I hit the heated seat the message came on and car misfired. Can only presume battery volts were too low to run the ignition properly. Stopped and restarted with cold seats and all well! Suspect I might need a battery soon though.

Had the same on mine. Take the throttle body off and clean it inside and out with carb cleaner, mines been ok since.
I do it every year now as part of service.

Forgot to add, surprising how quick they get gunked up. Not sure if this is due to me having a K&N fitted?

Yep! Had an performance filter on my TD5 and it caused an issue with the MAF sensor due to it coating it in oil.
