Juddering and Shaking

Hi everyone. A quick question from the hard shoulder of the M6 toll

I pulled over when the car started to judder quite vigorously coupled with a hot burning smell

When in dropped the speed to about 50mph the juddering stopped but started again as the speed went up.

Anyone experienced anything like this or have an idea as to what the problem might be!

Thanks in advance guys

Could it be a sticking calliper ? Check the wheels and see if one is a lot hotter than the other Thumbs Up

The AA guy was pretty noncommittal So arranging a recovery.

Been told the o/s/f bearing very worn and marks on the o/s/r brake disc which show that it got very hot.

That is the symptom of a sticking rear park brake. If the rear disc is discoloured around the hub area, that makes it even more likely.

It needs to be stripped cleaned and adjusted. Although it sound like your shoes may have delaminated and destroyed themselves.

Thanks very much indeed.

I only had them cleaned and reset on Wednesday - is it an expensive job to get fixed?
