This is the say hello thread ...you might be best starting a new thread for wider discussion. Unfortunately this thread is too big for me to split you out of . 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Discovery 3, '57 plate HSE with 123k on the clock, with all the kit on, FSH (not dealer) - the engine has recently 'seized'...... and when I say seized - my indie has been unable to turn the crank at all..... Have been advised either crank broken or bearings gone...
I have been advised that it is NEW ENGINE TIME - v. v. disappointed, but s**t happens - thoughts please?

Can't help with the engine, but interested to hear what Indy you are using. I shall need some work done soon and can't decide where to go.

Have been dealing with a local indie just outside Cirencester, not LR specific but has history with LR, and one himself and therefore familiar...... Not sure if that is helpful?

Could be a good basis for an electric conversion. Strip out engine and gearbox, drop in a 700 kW electric motor (a wee bit of engineering may be required), inverter, controller and the biggest effing battery you can find, probably at least 100 kWh.
Would be awesome and you'll beat LR to it.
There are firms in the UK who will do this. No idea of cost but probably comparable to a new engine - just much better.

Hoping to get some help with my Discovery 4. I have just got it back from my local landrover mechanic (not dealership) after having the front lower arms replaced and turbo drain tube modification fitted.
The first fault I noticed was the fuel gauge is working only intermittently. When it's not working it says there no fuel.
I then noticed the one touch window function is not working on all 4 windows. (Tried to reset this using advise from other threads on this site but no joy)
Also had a couple of glitches with the infotainment system but since sorted themselves.
I haven't had any of these faults before.
I just wondered if this could be a simple fix by re-setting the cars computer or if there is more to it!
Many thanks
Ross

Put your question up as another thread. It'll be lost in a seized engine thread.
As for the seized engine. Get a Jag engine from Disco Mikey's source and get Woody 32 to fit it. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder
Duratrac tyres
IID BT
