Hello, I find myself in the same boat 2011 D4 purchased from a main dealer as an approved vehicle. Fully serviced and maintained by main dealer and crank failure at 62,000. Main dealer has made a case to LR for support but retailer made it very clear that they were not interested in contributing even though they sold me faulty car. LR have offered a contribution but it still leaves me with a humungous bill that we cannot afford. I am in the process of taking advice from a solicitor as I believe this breaches the sale of good act. You can add me to the list of LR drivers with a broken engine. I also require evidence that I am not just the unlucky one so any feed back would be appreciated.

Thanks Charlie610.
Sinci1, sorry to hear about your case. We will need some assessment paperwork from people whom had already dealt with such problem to have some leverage in discussion with the dealer to classify it as a known problem. If anybody else can contribute to this it will be much appreciated. I am due to speak with my dealer soon and if I have anything in written form I will let you know.

Just an update on the photo of the engine that came out (click gallery), it was determined to be the crankshaft sleeve failure that seized up the engine. All other parts of the engine were in perfect condition.
