Brake pads parts and tools....

Chaps,

After ringing Land Rover Cheltenham three times to try and get a service agent I have given up and will do the pads myself (when the convenience of getting a dealer to do it take longer to get a call back than it would for me to order and fit myself I give up!!)

So... do I need any special tools for the pad change? I am assuming not and I will need:

1. Set of new pads from AF (TRW low dust ones?)
2. New wear sensor as it has been set off
3. Anti squeal grease

I'm guessing I can use same pad clips?

Changing I guess I will need to release the brake reservoir to push the calipers back but will I need a clamp to get them back enough for the new pads?

Look through the brake bible, it's the same for D4 brakes. Thumbs Up

Thanks, great guide although I now need to work out whether I need new bolts and clips or not.

Seems the the low dust kit doesn't come with them so can I use existing bolts and clips or should I use new?

Clips seem expensive at £36 a set from AF.

Usually the clips can be re used, but check carefully the condition of them.
Bolts should have new threadlock on them really. A small tube of loctite medium goes a looooonnnnnggggg way.

I re used my clips good wire brushing and they came up a treat while ur changing the pads I'd reccomend spraying the the calipers up too looks smarter and prevents corrosion

As for tools cheap wind back tool for £12 off eBay can never hurt to have as always will come in handy Thumbs Up

Large flat screwdriver makes an excellent tool to push the piston back in, no need for fancy tools if you push the piston back in whilst the calliper is still mounted.
No need to change the stainless clips and as said old bolts are just fine.

You normally get new bolts and slides with pads.
