D4 HVAC Unit disassemble and re-assemble

If like me, you have a GS, or you have commercial D4 you might consider getting heated seats one day.

I'd started the process of this by buying a HSE HVAC unit cheaply off ebay for the buttons but as it was there I thought i'd take it all apart to see how it all fits together as it might help another forum member one day.

All units look to have the same board inside - so its just a case of getting the buttons and updating the ccf to get things working Thumbs Up

Here is a Robbie ( Bow down ) style pic of all the parts:

and put back togther

The unit comes apart completely - I've even got a video that may help if you ever need it. Instead of posting all the pics on this thread - here is a link to my album which shows all the steps in pictures.

I hope it helps someone who ever needs to update to heated seats or parking sensors, or to repair their unit Thumbs Up

Hi big M,

you'd have to get the back off and if you look at this pic you'd then get access (i think) to the clips that hold the centre ring in place (certainly the case for the outer 2 rings)

I'll check later on my test platform and confirm that for you Thumbs Up
