Reversed headlight wiring? - help/advice where to start |
|
Hello, I've got a Discovery 3 which I'm putting right some bodges by a previous owner.
I think some headlight rewiring has been done...
Issue: when trying to use the full beam (or flash)
If the stalk is as far forward as possible (away from driver) - full beam is off... if I pull leaver towards me (so it stays) in position it puts the full beam on... at this position I can pull it towards me more almost what I would expect to be the flash position - nothing happens at this point ...
Does anyone know of mods people may commonly tweek that maybe wrongly wired? So I can start aiming in the right area
Colin
Also quick thanks to these forums - have modded the car with sat nav, running boards, parrot hands free , reversing camera if anyone needs any advice or want to know how I done these, then please shout.

Thanks Pete, do they break down often on these? Seems almost reversed connections - wiring from it appears intact but am wondering where it all terminates from cabin externally- incase previous owner has fiddled with the circuits (wouldn't surprise me)

It's computer controlled.
A battery disconnection maybe worth a go.
Have a look at the diagrams here:

Does headlight flash work when the lights are off ?

Hello, Just an update - it was the indicator stalk fault. Upon removing it, it appears a previous owner may have fitted a refurbished unit (looked a little hacked apart stickers used to cover the mess).
Had a quote from LR - £185... sod that, I got one from Ebay £15 - and works a dream. Thanks for the help. Sorry for the delay replying
