Thanks Peter. I'm chanting at the bit to have some available for the coming outback touring season but want to be sure that the double-sided PCB design is correct before paying for a sheet of them to be made. The 1st sheet cost includes making the templates, whereas additional sheets at a later time use the original templates. I'm finished with the measuring and testing due to there no longer being any need to program appropriate calibrations. This also makes fitting less error-prone as the sensor plugs don't have to go into a particular spot for a wheel, although they will be numbered so they can go back into the same spot if the unit is temporarily removed without having to recalibrate the unit.

Any suggestions for mounting a sub-miniature toggle switch and 3mm LED in a D3? I thought that the blank plate behind the EPB switch might be a good spot but perhaps there are better places.

Yeah looks like a good spot.
Just a point is that panel available to order as a spare part?

Yep - this panel is cheap and available as a spare part from LR. It's a great place to mount switches and indicator lamps/LEDs Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Thanks PaulP. Its a pity the D4 doesn't have somewhere just as suitable.

Hi Graeme I guess the information I sent, allow you to plug properly your prototypes, now you have my knowlege about "connectors engineering" for LR suspension.
If you need some more special I have some friend on the LR "wiring system" development to help us.

Regards.

Yes, thanks E-peich for the heads-up. If I can obtain the connectors fully-populated and possibly have them wired to requirements then I'll make plup-in units rather than wired-in ones, which I assume would be of interest to more people. Its still early days though.

Hi GraemeS ¿how do you doing? it works properly?
I have some problems to wire my design for the suspension control, I prepare it so short and I have no space enough.

Hi E-Peich,

I'm waiting for a quote from the loom manufacturer, which was temporarily delayed as it seems that my local contact person is no longer my contact person.

My unit is in permanent use in my vehicle, with the +30mm option getting used daily and +50 occasionally. No problems using +50mm on top of normal off-road height either!

Perhaps of interest to some (not me) is that it can learn to lower instead of raising the vehicle for those who might want a lowered vehicle at higher speeds, then set to re-learning to raise when preparing for a trip that might require extra clearance.

Not available soon enough but should sell for less than a set of adjustable sensor rods.

Edit: I'd like to have them available in time for our winter outback touring season.

Hi Graeme,
Would the kit be available for both D3 & D4?

The only difference between a D3 & D4 is where to mount the switch and LED. In a D3, the blank panel just behind the EPB switch would seem a suitable spot. I'm in the process today of moving my D4's switch and LED from a small box (that looks crappy) to mounting them in the top of the driver's side accessory power outlet dummy plug, although it means the power outlet can't be used. I'll look at providing the switch in a dummy plug if this seems acceptable to people, but any suggestions would be most welcome. I had thought people could mount the switch and LED themselves, but might get some blank plates and dummy plugs to simplify the installation. I haven't looked at where they might be mounted in an RRS.

I'd like to come up with a general-purpose mounting for the switch and LED but haven't identified suitable spots for a bracket. I've used a sub-miniature 3-position toggle switch and 3mm tri-colour LED.

Rod length is controled from a switch on the dash. You chose when you want to use it.
Mechanical/pneumatic system, does not change any signals and can be removed and replaced with OEM rods easily.

It will be decision time for my unit soon. The trial pair of leads will arrive this week and as long as it passes fitting tests in a couple of vehicles, hopefully within the next 2 to 3 weeks, I'll need to spend a significant amount on a minimum order quantity of 50 pairs.
