Hi, just bought a discovery 3 tdv6 and thought I would change the fuel filter.
The position of the connections on the new filter is different to the pipes on the filter I took off.
I am not sure if I have connected it up correctly as there is no diagram on the top like the old filter.
The car startred first time and is running perfectly after changing, but I was wondering what the symptoms are if its not connected correctly ?
What are the 4 pipes for, there is obviously an inlet and outlet, but what are the other two pipes for ?
Thanks

Thanks
I am going to buy another Mahle or Delphi filter and change it again with the colour coded diagram on the top.
Will it do any damage if the fuel cooler pipes are the wrong way round ?

I have seen an RRS catch fire...
2 big pipes go to the left, 2 smaller to the right.
The one with the pinhole in the filter is the one with the same quick release connection as the bigger pipes, the small white release clip is on the pipe towards the front of the car My D3 Build Thread

When I started doing my own serving the first time I changed the filter I found two pipes were connected the wrong way. I can't recall if it was the large or small diameter ones. The car drove fine before and after. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Anyone done a diy pictorial for this job on here? Eurocarparts have two totally different filters for my reg - I havnt looked on the car yet as I don't know where the fuel filter is!
Is this a straightforward diy like an oil filter change is?

With a torch, goto the drivers front wheel arch and look through it down at the back and you should see pipes.
As yours is a 2007 I think is has the small filter.
To replace you remove the plastic undertray, under the gearbox
