Les Comes 2016 Landrover Party - vids

Just got back from the Les Comes 10th LandRover Party in Spain (after a week added on with some new and favourite Tracks around the Pyrenees)
A couple of quick vids we compiled last week. More to come for the weeks activities, but a taster for you anyway.

Interested to see the others, seriously considering going down there next year. From what I have read, there are various tracks around the area we can try. Considering I am a novice off roader and wouldn't been keen to get any damage, would these tracks be suitable? Many of them etc?

I'm going to try and sell it to Mrs LT that we spend a few days in Barcelona while we are down there, only way I will persuade her I think.

The tracks at Les Comes are graded according to difficulty. Just like pistes at ski resorts. Your free to chose which ones to go on. Enjoy

ps - nice vids Bodsy. Shame we couldn't make it this year. Was the Yellow theme as good as our Orange theme last year?

The Yellow theme seemed to work ok, different cars, more of them, helps that Pep has 5 of them in his own collection that were also displayed. Laughing
Different era really, so can't compare too much. It was good to see the old stuff going around. In one of the vids, you can see the camel 110 that managed to slip off of the see saw!

I'm looking forward to seeing the longer vids - I remember you holding a camera near our RRSs as Chris and I trundled around the play area. It was a good trip and I'm sorely tempted to go again... Thumbs Up

And you can see me in the second video - or at least the back of my head Laughing

Les Comes has something like 60km of tracks of various levels of difficulty.

Many of the blacks are pretty ok much of the time, but then have a sting in the tail.

And when it rains, the smoothest road becomes a lot more fun!

Just watched the official vid (no idea if same as above).

Despite my best efforts to avoid publicity they captured me. Well for 1/2 second at 3:45. Plus a certain RRS (or is it a FF Confused ) at 5:45 & 6:00. Thumbs Up

Right - I need to get Mrs LT persuaded.

What route have people taken? Guess its either ferry to Bilbao and across, or drive from Calais. Suspect I would do the latter. Couple of days to get down? Would be just be driving I suspect, so that would be 2 full days of driving I reckon.

I did Calais to Brive la Gillarde (or something like that, via Rouen, Dreux, Blois & Limoges) on the Thursday, camped o/night there, then down via Andorra, getting there ~4pm. Mix of normal roads, d/carriage ways & autoroutes (free & toll).

Two days each way if you're just wanting to get there and back. We spent a few days going down stopping at Arras, Orleans, Limoges and Carcassonne (for two nights) to do some sight seeing. Two days coming back with an overnight stop in Vichy and then Arras (decided to get an early chunnel on the third day AM rather than a late one at end of day two, if that makes sense). Could have done both ways in two days each and felt fine doing it. Easy driving long distance over there - could have done the whole of France in a very long day if really pushed but it would have been a slog as it's over 800 miles.

This was our route down (approx) https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/50.92160...!4e1?hl=en
Could be shortened by 2-3 hours by being more direct.
