Number plate change
Hi there, do I have to pay to change my private plate back to the original?

You have to pay to put your current reg on retention ( or transfer it to another vehicle ) then your car will get allocated another plate. It usually gets its old number back but not always.Mods:

Good to know, have to ring my insurance mid next week to advise of change, swmbo reckons I'll end up paying another £40 admin fee

It depends on the Insurer, usually its £25 to change the registration number. Some companies don't charge at all.
